Bell Butte is a minor nontechnical summit in the Valley of the Gods. In fact, it is the only nontechnical summit that I know of in the Valley. Dom and I bagged this little guy after climbing nearby Battleship Rock. It was a quick but worthy little sidetrip.

We parked on a primitive dirt road northwest of Bell Butte and hiked up its easy but gungy west face. In retrospect it would probably have been just as easy or easier to park to the southwest on Highway 261.
