Dom & I backpacked the 3.5 miles & 2,850 feet up Mount Bierstadt after work and spent the night on the 14,060 foot summit in hopes of getting a head start on acclimatization for Peru. Sunset over the Sawtooth and sunrise over Mount Evans were spectacular; we should do this kind of thing more often. Despite being a weekday the mountain was bustling. We left the summit at first light and passed 50 hikers on the way down!
