Getting There: Take I-70 exit #131 and follow the main dirt road on the south side. For UN 7,242 turn right onto a poorer dirt road after 4 miles and make a left a mile later. Follow this road and park wherever your vehicle dictates. For Block Mountain follow the main road for about 5 ½ miles, make a right, and continue 2 more miles. Park at the junction directly north of the peak.
Round Trip Stats: 2 ½ miles & 600 feet for Block Mountain; 1-2 miles & 400 feet for UN 7,242
What to expect: Easy walking, wide open views, perhaps ATVs. Both peaks can be climbed in just a a couple of hours.
