We're surprised by the amount of water the upper part of the canyon is holding; it has clearly rained during the week. We consider turning back as the beta says this canyon isn't trivial, we have no wetsuits, and its cold. The group consensus is to continue cautiously, being mindful of the reversibility of our steps.

At the end of Boss Hog there are several exit options. If another Hog fork is on the agenda its most efficient to climb up the slickrock fin just east of Boss Hog (between Boss Hog & Hog 2). This requires a short stretch of low 5th class slab climbing to start. Dom & I scramble up in our sticky canyoneering shoes and drop a handline for the others. Hog 2 here we come...
