Peaks Climbed: Chair Rock (8,020'), "The Knight" (7,980'), "The Pawn" (7,980') & "The Kingpin" (7,980')

Location: South Platte, Colorado Trailhead: FS Rd 238

Difficulty: Low 5th class to 5.9+ Mileage & Gain: 8 miles, 1600 feet

Date Climbed: June 11, 2016

Four cool little granite summits lined in a row above the South Platte River make up the Chair Rocks quartet: The Knight, Chair Rock, The Pawn, and The Kingpin. The summits of Chair Rock and The Knight require mulipitch 5.9+ climbing to attain. We found our way up the other two via short low 5th class scrambles. This is a really unique and interesting area that is seldom visited now that the four mile dirt road leading to it is closed to vehicle traffic. This was one of my favorite days out so far this year.
