You don't hear a lot about Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains. The Tetons and Wind Rivers divert the attention of most climbers considering a visit to the state. In July 2013 Dominic, David & I spent a long weekend sport climbing in Ten Sleep Canyon on the eastern edge of the range. Quickly falling in love with the limestone, I couldn't wait for the opportunity to return.
This summer I convinced Pete to join me for a five day trip, two days (July 30-31, 2014) of which were spent backpacking and hiking up Cloud Peak, the highest mountain in the Bighorns. The round trip distance from the West Tensleep Trailhead was about 23 miles. Cloud is known for its endless boulder hopping, and we unfortunately confirmed the validity of this reputation.
