What do you do on a drizzly Thanksgiving Day in Zion? We hit up the local Walmart in Hurricane for an air compressor, extension cord and shovel and headed off toward Colorado City to tackle the sandy roads out to Shunes Hollow.

The 10+ miles of four wheeling through deep sand went off without a hitch and we never needed to lower the tire pressure. There is a pulloff next to some hoodoos that is a good starting point for Dennett Peak.

This mimor summit is an easy jaunt from the road and a good distraction on a damp day. The drive in is certainly the crux!
