After backpacking to Clear Lake and setting up camp below Haystack Mountain, Dominic & I took advantage of the stable afternoon weather by hiking up East Temple Peak. It was a short and worthwhile side trip with phenomenal views in all directions. Highly recommended! There is some fun, choose your own adventure sort of scrambling to be had on the west ridge. Or if you prefer a simple stroll, hike up the southwest slopes from Temple Pass. We went up the ridge and down the grassy slopes.
