There is at least one bolt missing near the ground (evidenced by an empty hole) and clipping the first bolt is tricky. Luckily we found two long, heavy metal poles at the base. We duct taped an open biner to the end of one and Dominic was able to hook the small chain link after less then 10 minutes of trying.

What is all that crap hanging on the bolt?! Two quickdraws, two additional biners, an etrier and some wads of duct tape? Our brains weren't working too well this morning apparently!!! Aid climbing takes a different groove and we weren't back in it yet.

The Happy Turk Hoodoo, or The Devil's Golfball, is located on BLM land in Kane Springs Canyon near Moab, Utah. A six bolt ladder leads to the summit. A few 5.8ish free moves are required at the top.
