Poland Hill is one of the coolest "hills" you will ever climb; seldom are the terms hill and technical climbing used together. This formation is part of a cluster of interesting granite outcroppings in southeastern Wyoming surrounded by an otherwise dreary high desert landscape. Vedauwoo is most known for its high quality crack, and especially offwidth crack, climbing.
Poland Hill is little more than a stone's throw from I-80 and is well worth a pit stop for a scenic and fun mini-adventure. A rope, rock shoes, and pair quickdraws will get you to the summit via the path of least resistance (bolted 5.4 slab). Steph, Ryan, Dom & I made a day of it and climbed two other summit routes, Kim [5.6] and Fantasia [5.9], as well as a few more not located on the summit dome. Gem of a summit!
