The unnamed summit on the east side of Zion that has come to be known as "Progeny Peak" is one of the park's easiest summit hikes. Pretty much the entire route is on clean, beautiful slickrock. The hike is suitable for most people, but there is no trail so minor routefinding skills are necessary. The views from the top are incredible and among the best in Zion. The East Temple steals the show.
I'd already been up here twice before, but with such a high bang for your buck ratio this seemed like a great way to wrap up our trip before beginning the long drive home. Once again, Progeny did not disappoint. It was just what our tired and aching bodies needed after days of abuse. Until next time, beautiful.
