We started the hike approximately 1 mile west of the middle summit of the expansive Raplee Ridge. The 4WD road that runs along the north side of the San Juan River was in relatively good shape.

The Valley of the Gods is in the distance to the north. Mexican Hat Rock, which we climbed earlier this morning, is in the middle ground a bit right of center.
