Kevin and I were looking for a half day outing in the Swell to break up the drive down to Zion National Park. These peaks aren't far from the plethora of dirt roads that criss cross the area and the Swasey's Cabin Trailhead makes for a convenient starting point. The cabin was built back in 1921 by the Swasey boys who had been running cattle in the area since the late 1800s.
UN 7,500 was much more interesting than we had anticipated. There aren't many viable non-technical routes on this thing - which I can say for certain because we spent a lot of time exploring options, both on the way up and down. The north side is the key.
UN 7,762 wasn't exactly trivial either. We climbed up the northeast face, eventually resorting to a dirty low 5th class pitch near the top. To avoid having to downclimb this we took a circuituous and tedious descent path on the northwest side.
